Who We Are

Pacific Voices is a not-for-profit community choir whose purpose is to bring together singers for a joyous and supportive choral and social experience. Our Music Leadership

Sean Boulware

Dr. Sean Boulware, conductor

Sean is a sought after conductor, adjudicator, clinician and vocalist throughout the United States and Europe. He is in demand as a consultant for choral organizations in the areas of chorus management, audience development and technology implementation. Sean has prepared choruses for conductors including, John Alexander, Keith Lockhart and John Rutter. He has also prepared choirs to sing with Josh Groban, Michael McDonald, Tommy Simms, Keith and Kristyn Getty. In 2012, Sean conducted the Monterey Peninsula Choral Society at the Summer Olympics in London, England. 

Sean is an associate professor of Choral Conducting at The San Francisco Conservatory of Music where he teaches the MM and DMA Choral Conducting Students. Sean conducts choirs and orchestras regularly at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. He last returned to Carnegie Hall in 2015 to conduct “Easter at Carnegie Hall” with Monterey Peninsula Voices, Pacific Voices and The New England Symphonic Ensemble. Internationally, Sean has conducted choirs and seminars in Italy, England, Scotland, Ireland, Austria, The Netherlands, Germany, Greece, Brazil, and Japan. Sean’s choirs can be heard on iTunes and CDbaby.com. He was honored by American Idol as the conductor for the most requested/downloaded Classical Group.

Sean is currently the Conductor of Monterey Peninsula Voices, Aria Women’s Choir, The California Central Coast Chorale, and Pacific Voices in Santa Cruz. He also teaches choral music and theater at Pacific Grove High School. He lives in Pacific Grove, CA with his wife, Michelle, and their two sons. He has studied with such notable conductors as Dr. Lynn Bielefelt, Dr. Joseph Flummerfelt, James Levine, Dr. James Jordan, Rodney Eichenberger, John Alexander, Paul Mayo and Shirley Nute.

 

David Long

David Long, accompanist

David has been an accompanist, performer, and music educator in the Santa Cruz area since 2001. After earning his bachelor's degree from UC Santa Cruz in 2003, he was hired as principal accompanist at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Capitola. From 2012 to 2014 he served as their music director. David has been a proud member of Pacific Voices since 2005.

Kitchy Burdette

Kitchy Burdette, assistant conductor

Kitchy graduated from Chico State with a degree in Music and an emphasis on Voice, and continued on to get her teaching credential. Teaching is what she loves to do. For 33 years, she has taught choir, guitar, and drama for Santa Cruz City Schools at Mission Hill Junior High and Soquel High School. She is still active at Soquel High as a music class substitute.

Kitchy started singing with Unity Choir (currently Pacific Voices) in the spring of 1999. She is active as a singer, and acted as Assistant Director for several years, and also as interim Director.
